General Purpose:

Drive continuous improvement efforts to reduce costs and complexity across Manufacturing and Distribution Operations.  Support the commitment and continual improvement to Food Safety and Quality programs.  Support Continuous Improvement processes at multiple facilities.


Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Regional Directors to identify Sales, Operations and Logistics improvement initiatives
  • Assist with education and application of problem-solving tools to achieve identified goals
  • Assist facilities in understanding and application of outlined components of the Management Operating Structure
  • Support identification and development of cost saving initiatives to improve manufacturing efficiency and product line contribution margins
  • Identify key waste initiatives, including seeking out and eliminating waste in all business functions
  • Collaborate with local management in developing, tracking, and using key performance indicators to improve business performance
  • Prepare reports and charts for improvement opportunity identification and problem solving on a weekly, monthly, and yearly basis
  • Analyze business unit performance in conjunction with savings opportunities to identify best application of CI processes and tools
  • Cultivate a Continuous Improvement culture that improves profitability and employee engagement
  • Regularly analyze and document identified target initiative savings versus actual performance
  • Support facilities in communicating goals and business updates to employees
  • Assist improvement teams to increase profitability and achieve identified goals
  • Analyze operational data and work with established teams to develop action plans for improvement
  • Lead problem solving activities using established problem-solving toolset
  • Support food safety and quality program development, maintenance, and business improvements
  • Promote safety, efficiency, and goal attainment
  • Mentor employees within the business locations to foster understanding of CI program
  • Assist in developing training programs for new employees

Minimum Requirements:

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Finance, Mathematics, Business, or related field
  • 5 years of experience working in supply chain, demand planning, or sales planning environment, including 2 years of leadership experience
  • Certification and/or Licenses – Preferred: Six Sigma Green or Black Belt; APICS Certified Production and Inventory Management (CPIM), Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), or Certified Fellow in Production and Inventory Management (CFPIM); and Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • Minimum travel of 75% required


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge/expertise in lean manufacturing principles (Kaizen, Work Balancing, 5S, TPM, Six Sigma, etc.) preferred
  • Knowledge of and skill with Microsoft Office Suite (specifically Excel, Word, Access, Microsoft Project and PowerPoint)
  • Able to utilize root cause analysis techniques (fishbone diagram, Pareto charts, 5 Whys, etc.)
  • Able to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Able to interact positively and work effectively with others (interpersonal skills)
  • Able to maintain confidentiality of information
  • Able to identify problems, take appropriate steps to find solutions to problems, and implement recommended solutions
  • Able to work with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Able to consider both strategic and practical implications for proposed course of action
  • Able to project a professional image
  • Able to demonstrate leadership qualities as a self-starter and able to set direction
  • Able to follow through
