Job Description & Requirements

The Finance Pricing Manager will function as the Ice Cream Division’s pricing expert. The role’s principal responsibility is to create and drive pricing strategies and tactics that result in P&L growth of our private label and co-packed ice cream businesses. The role will serve as the first contact for the sales team in preparation for negotiating and executing deals. The role prepares customer pricing and profitability analyses, builds pricing models, and drives best-practice negotiation and pricing management processes. The role will make pricing recommendations with an understanding of the implications to the ice cream business overall, working cross-functionally with sales, marketing, supply chain, transportation, production, procurement, and risk management.

 

  • Develops new pricing models and enhances existing models that capture all actual costs to protect profit margins.
  • Employs a broad business perspective in providing pricing guidance to sales, identifying margin improvement opportunities through the analysis of historical sales and pricing data, internal cost-to-serve data, customer and product segmentation, market trends and competitive intelligence.
  • Manages pricing update processes, including monthly and quarterly price model updates.
  • Reviews and analyzes the market drivers of all price components, including dairy commodities, other ingredients, packaging, and freight, and manages market price risk in collaboration with risk management, procurement, and supply chain/transportation.
  • Prepares new request for proposals (RFPs) financial pricing models by developing pricing scenarios that consider various market conditions.
  • Leads the development of the annual pricing adjustments recommendations, collaborating with various groups within the organization to understand latest inflationary components for application to price modeling.
  • Performs pricing audits, monthly performance monitoring and analysis to inform changes to go-forward pricing implementation and strategy.
  • Is accountable for pricing accuracy and ensures any pricing discrepancies arising from systems or communication issues are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Proactively identifies and recommends improvements and efficiencies in systems and processes relating to pricing, reporting and analysis, as well as data management.
  • Provides ad hoc support including financial modeling, competitive pricing analysis, pricing related reporting and performance measurements.

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably with an Accounting and/or Finance concentration; an MBA is highly preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of work experience with strategic pricing, price modeling, or financial data analysis.
  • Strong modeling, data manipulation, and data visualization skillsets using excel (e.g., macros, pivot tables); experience with Tableau a plus.
  • Experience in food, agricultural or commodity-based industries preferred.
  • Demonstrates a passion for learning and a willingness to build new skills.
  • Must be able to define, diagnose, and resolve problems.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
  • Adapt to changing organizational and operational needs and lead people through change.
  • Must be able to pass all pre-employment screens (including drug, background, and criminal checks).
